11gR2 PITSS.CON Setup Prerequisites<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

1.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Minimum System Requirements<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

1.1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oracle Supported Forms Builder Platforms (Development Client):<\/p>\n

1.1.1. Windows Server 2008 SP1+ 32-bit (SP2+ required for Java 7)<\/p>\n

1.1.2. Windows Server 2008 SP1+ 64-bit (SP2+ required for Java 7)<\/p>\n

1.1.3. Windows 7 32-bit<\/p>\n

1.1.4. Windows 7 64-bit<\/p>\n

1.2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oracle Support Forms & Reports Services Platforms (Application Server):<\/p>\n

1.2.1. Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit<\/p>\n

1.2.2. Windows Server 2012 64-bit (Java 7 only)<\/p>\n

1.3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>RAM: 3 \u2013 4 GB+(Depending on operating system support)<\/p>\n

1.4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Virtual Memory: 4GB+<\/p>\n

1.5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>OS User Access Requirements:<\/p>\n

1.5.1. The operating system user that is used for the installation must have Administrative privileges on the machine and \u201cFull Access\u201d to the file system directory where 11g WebLogic and Forms was installed.<\/p>\n

1.5.2. The OS user admin account should be locally created on the PC\/server.<\/p>\n

1.5.3. IMPORTANT:<\/b> This OS account used to install the Oracle software MUST be used to run the Oracle Services per the Oracle Forms Certification Matrix (it is best to use an account to which multiple system admins will have access) and PITSS.CON must also be installed as the same user who installed WebLogic and Forms.<\/p>\n

2.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Software Requirements<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

2.1.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Java JDK 1.7.0_45 (or later)<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.1.1. Go to http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/technetwork\/java\/javase\/downloads\/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

2.1.2. Click on \u201cjdk-7u45-windows-i586.exe\u201d for 32-bit or \u201cjdk-7u45-windows-x64.exe\u201d for 64-bit.<\/p>\n

NOTE: This is the page to download the latest JDK version.<\/p>\n

NOTE: Java JDK\u00a0 1.7.0_40 is the minimum required for Forms 11.1.2.2 if using Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6, but we recommend the latest version of JDK as it is more current and contains security updates.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

2.2.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Database Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Database will be needed to store the PITSS.CON Repository. The database MUST be a locally installed database (in the same local-area network (LAN) as the application server).<\/p>\n

2.2.1. Oracle Database 11gR2 is recommended, 10gR2 (10.2.0.4+) is the minimum acceptable version. Oracle Database 12.1.0.1+ is also supported.<\/p>\n

2.2.2. The database should NOT be the XE edition of Oracle Database.<\/p>\n

2.2.3. We\u2019ll need a database user with DBA privileges accessible (such as SYS).<\/p>\n

2.2.4. The database will need CTXSYS user installed on the database (done through installing Oracle Text on the database) where the PITSS.CON Repository will run. To check if Oracle Text was installed, check to see if a CTXSYS user exists (without manually installing it).<\/p>\n

2.2.5. A tablespace will need to be created for the PITSS Repository. It should be expandable \u00a0(auto-extend) with at least 3 GB of space. Please let PITSS know the name of the tablespace to use.<\/p>\n

2.2.6. The database where the PITSS.CON Repository will be installed should be a development or test database. We do not recommend using a production database.<\/p>\n

2.2.7. NOTE: After PITSS.CON is installed, the PITSS.CON repository should NOT be moved to a separate database or server using export\/import or Data Pump. Please contact PITSS before moving PITSS.CON to a separate database or server.<\/p>\n

2.3.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Application Modules<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.3.1.<\/strong> Please have all modules (forms, menus, libraries, and reports) ready for loading into PITSS.CON.<\/b><\/p>\n

2.4.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oracle Forms environment<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.4.1.<\/strong> PITSS.CON needs a fully-configured Oracle Forms & Reports 11gR2 environment running under Oracle WebLogic Server. One (not all) of the following environments must be set up on the same application server or PC where PITSS.CON will be installed<\/u>:<\/b><\/p>\n

2.4.1.1.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oracle Forms & Reports 11.1.2.0 (11gR2) using Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5 or 10.3.6 (JDK 6 (1.6.0_45) required<\/b>)<\/b><\/p>\n

2.4.1.2.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oracle Forms & Reports 11.1.2.1 (11gR2) using Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6 (JDK 7u7+ required<\/b>)<\/b><\/p>\n

2.4.1.3.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oracle Forms & Reports 11.1.2.2 (11gR2) using Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6 (JDK 7u40+ required<\/b>)<\/b><\/p>\n

2.4.1.4.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>NOTE: PITSS.CON must be installed using the same operating system (OS) user who installed WebLogic and Forms.<\/strong><\/p>\n
